The products of PVC tape used in the current market can be divided into two categories: one is ordinary insulation grade tape, the other is flame retardant insulating tape. Due to the strong standard on the temperature resistance of the tape film, the manufacturer of the tape base film must screen and use the relevant raw and auxiliary materials in the formula design to ensure that the relevant special functions of the two series of products of ordinary insulation grade and flame retardant insulation grade are met.

PVC resin is the main raw material for the production of PVC tape base film, which can account for 65~85% of the formula composition. When selecting PVC resins, special attention should be paid that different resins should be used respectively, if the requirements of product use and the characteristics of application fields are different.

Because PVC resin contains about 57% chlorine atoms, it has the self extinguishing property that other polymers do not have, which is very valuable. However, considering the plasticization of PVC materials in the formula, a certain amount of plasticizer is added, which reduces its flame retardancy. In order to achieve higher flame retardant effect, a certain amount of flame retardant needs to be added.
